Sonifex RB-ADDA, a combined audio converter AD and DA that produces digital signal AES/EBU or S/PDIF from balanced analog signal via XLR or unbalanced RCA or vice versa.
The unit has 4 operating modes:
- Master Mode: the unit receives an analog audio signal, which is digitized and formatted according to IEC958. Clock signals are generated internally by an integrated master clock at selected sampling rates: 32kHz, 44.1kHz, 48kHz or 96kHz
- Slave Mode: the unit automatically detects the presence of the digital sync signal and synchronizes the digital output. If no sync signal is present, no output signal is generated.
- Auto Mode: the unit synchronizes to the digital sync signal if present, and uses the internal clock only if the sync signal is not present.
- Auto Lock Mode: this mode operates like Auto mode except that if there is no sync signal at the input, it will use the internal clock to synchronize to the last set rates on the clock.

- The analog inputs have left/right level controls using pre-set potentiometers and DIP switches allowing signals between +9dBu to +27dBu. The RCA inputs have +10 dB integrated gain to allow a range of -1dBu to +17dBu.
- The analog outputs have a level control allowing a range of +12dBu, +18dBu or +24dBu.
- The selection buttons allow the selection of AES/EBU or S/PDIF inputs for the A/D and D/A sections.
- The output resolution can be 16, 20 or 24 bits - inputs with different output resolutions are dithered with a noise filter.
