Neumann KH 150 - Bi-amplified studio monitor, powered by DSP, with deep bass response and remarkable resolution.
Neumann Precision, Deep Bass and Plenty of Headroom
The KH 150 is a powerful bi-amplified studio monitor with reference performance. Its 6.5-inch woofer in a bass reflex cabinet offers astonishing low-end capability and high SPL, with undiminished clarity. The DSP-controlled electronics ensure a linear phase response and allow adaptive room calibration via Neumann's revolutionary MA 1 automatic monitor alignment.
What You Hear Is What You Get
The KH 150 follows the same philosophy as all Neumann studio monitors: the highest linearity, the lowest distortion, no coloration, and perfect adaptability to any acoustic environment. It allows you to hear every nuance of your tracks. Mixing becomes much faster, easier, and more creative.
Sounds brilliant, but can I get away with this? Is the voice bright or sibilant? Is there too much bass? The KH 150 will tell you. Honestly.
A Bigger One
What sets the KH 150 apart from its smaller siblings is its deeper bass response down to 39 Hz. It is almost as low as the larger KH 310, thanks to the new high-precision 6.5-inch woofer of the KH 150 in a carefully designed bass reflex cabinet. The KH 150 is therefore ideal for urban music, EDM, film music, and all styles that require extended low levels and/or high listening levels. Thanks to powerful amplifiers (145 W/100 W) and sophisticated protection limiters, no clarity is lost even at high SPLs. But, being a true universalist, the KH 150 performs just as well for any genre, from rock to classical music, broadcasting applications, and voice-over work.
The KH 150 has an exceptionally linear frequency response from 39 Hz to 21 kHz (±3 dB). Not only that: it linearizes the phase response too! This translates to clear mids, with astonishing transparency, as well as extreme accuracy in the time domain: precise reproduction of transients and finely resolved reverbs. This is made possible by the DSP-controlled electronics that allow sophisticated transitions while avoiding phase distortion caused by analog filters. The internal DSP also sets new standards in tonal consistency. The KH 150 is manufactured to extremely low tolerances of no more than ± 0.8 dB! And you can hear it too: stereo imaging is clear.
Ready for Your Room
Even the best speaker sounds as good as the acoustic environment allows. Neumann's Mathematically Modeled Dispersion™ (MMD™) waveguide guarantees a wide sweet spot and minimizes reflections from the desk. But the KH 150 goes much further: its internal DSP allows room calibration through Neumann's revolutionary automatic monitor alignment. MA 1 (sold separately) ensures that the DSP monitors are optimally adapted to the character of your room and perfectly calibrated for your listening position. Even in acoustically treated rooms, this results in a huge improvement.
Tonal compatibility with other KH line studio monitors makes it possible to use the KH 150 in mixed configurations, e.g. in immersive/surround setups. For flexible connectivity, the KH 150 features both analog and digital inputs.
AES 67 – Audio Over IP
Additionally, the KH 150 AES67 model variant offers integrated redundant AES67 audio network ports that are fully compatible with broadcasting standards such as ST 2110, ST 2022-7 redundancy, and RAVENNA. At the same time, the KH 150 AES67 is compatible with AES67 network streams generated by DANTE®.
Energy Efficient
Neumann engineers took great care to develop a patent-pending amplification technology that combines superior audio performance with class D energy efficiency. Although the KH 150 amplifiers deliver up to 145 W to the 6.5" woofer and 100 W to the 1" tweeter, they consume only 17 W. The automatic standby reduces power consumption to 0.3 W when the KH 150 has not been used for a while, but can be disabled.
Mounting Options
Most KH 120 accessories also fit the KH 150, with the exception of the LH 65 table stand, which is available in a slightly larger version as the new LH 66 (cat. no. 700258). The LH 61 (L stand) has been updated as the KH 150 is slightly heavier/larger than the KH 120, and the LH 64 (VESA mount) has been adjusted to allow access to the KH 150 controls. The order numbers remain unchanged here.
All mounting options can be found in the monitor mounting matrix.
