First of all, I appreciate the consultation from soundcreation - via email and phone for specific clarifications - focused on what I really need. The monitors are small but full of qualities! Simple enough to understand easily, with a full, deep, faithful sound both on bass and highs. During listening, unexpected musical details emerged.
Thanks to the EBM waveguide, the stereo image is much better, the instruments are clearer, the phantom image is more present, and you hear effects like reverb better. I did some measurements with REW (room eq wizard) in my room that is 4.5 meters long, 3.5 meters wide, and 2.5 meters high; the sound is not that flat. I have a resonance at 76 Hz of +7 dB, +15 dB at 100 Hz, +7 dB at 140 Hz, and +6 dB at 165 Hz, and I have a null at 235 Hz of -10 dB, which is normal in a small room due to room nodes. I use Sonarworks to reduce the resonances a bit, to make it sound somewhat flatter, and it does its job quite well at around ±3 dB. On the other hand, the build quality is very good.
They are superb, have an extremely faithful and crystal-clear sound, thanks to the EBM waveguide the stereo image is much deeper, instruments are clearer, the phantom image is very present, you hear effects like reverb better. I did some measurements with REW (room eq wizard), in my room which is 4.5m long, 3.5m wide, and 2.5m high, the sound is quite flat between 300hz and 20khz +- 3db, but on the low frequencies from 35hz to 165hz there are nulls and peaks +-6-8 db, which is normal in a small room due to room modes. At 165hz I had a 6db peak due to sbir, but I reduced it by 4db from behind the monitors. I also use a subwoofer from 35hz to 100hz, and from 100hz the monitors take over. I had the Presonus Eris E3.5 which are terrible for a studio, good only for multimedia. I also had the Presonus Eris E5 which are almost as good as these speakers, but still the Presonus Eris Studio 4 are better. I am extremely satisfied with the purchase!
