An impressive pair of monitors for editing, they work very well, yes, they have a very fine background noise, at least I can hear it if I get close to the main speaker, you'll realize if you listen to 8-bit audio vs 16/24 instantly, all frequencies sound perfect, including the bass, they may look small, but they have impeccable sound, the mids and highs are very good, someone already posted their sound graph on a forum, https://www.audiosciencereview.com/forum/index.php?threads/m-audio-bx4-d3-active-monitor-measurements-teardown-subjective-impressions.31423, relatively neutral, but it's nice of m-audio to add -+6db high and bass potentiometers, the bluetooth function can be used simultaneously with the rca/jack 6.35mm connection, both sources can play at the same time, they have very good amplification, you can use them as a headphone amplifier, it's not recommended, but still, you could connect them in front, at maximum volume they sound very good, they can fill a room with sound, I recommend them for anyone, whether you're an editor, an audiophile (you can really hear the difference between an mp3 and a flac, whether it's a cd rip or from vinyl), or just looking for a pair of speakers for your computer, they're not very expensive, and they sound good.
They don't have many frills, they're simple, they sound clear, anyway, it's something subjective.
Less mentioned features:
- they probably have an A/B amplifier, not D, as mentioned in some places.
- they do not allow simultaneous connection of multiple devices via Bluetooth.
- they have a fine hum that can be heard from a maximum of 30cm when the volume is at one third. They become dead silent if the amp is grounded.
They sound very good.
I've used them quite a bit so far, I bought them based on a recommendation.
They reproduce faithfully, I've never pushed them to the max to know how powerful they are, anyway at least for now I don't need them to "boom."
