Traditionally, large diaphragm condenser microphones are built around a 1" capsule. The Shure KSM32C rewrites the rules, its precisely designed ¾" capsule features a Mylar diaphragm with thousands of micro-depressions that lower the resonance frequency. This provides a flat response and extended performance at low frequencies typical of a traditional 1" design, while also achieving exceptional off-axis rejection (up to 37 dB at 180°) characteristic of small diaphragm microphones.
Combined with low self-noise, the result is cleaner, better-isolated recordings that preserve the source detail. Ideal for vocals, instruments, drum overheads, and ensembles.
