SM Pro Audio brings new updates

13.07.2009
SM Pro Audio brings new updatesStarting July 10, 2009, Souncreation announces significant price reductions on all SM Pro Audio products along with the introduction of several new models. Among them is the rack version of the V-Machine, namely V-Rack, which will appear towards the end of 2009. The Intel Core Duo processor at 2.66 GHz with 2GB RAM, 8GB Flash memory, and S-ATA hard disk make V-Rack a powerful tool, setting a new performance standard. Due to the professional audio signal inputs and double computing power, we can say that V-Rack is the professional version of the V-machine. Expectations are high for V-Rack; it must be much more stable in applications, both on stage and in other professional situations.

In addition to this, among the new products are several preamplifiers and amplifiers as follows:

  • Q Pre, a 4-channel microphone preamplifier with balanced XLR inputs and gain control on each channel from -20dB to +40dB, and switchable Phantom power between channels 1 and 2 (in pairs).
  • Q Amp headphone amplifier with 4 channels: 2 TRS stereo inputs, 4 individual headphone amplifiers, volume control on each channel, all in a metal housing with the possibility of being integrated into a rack using a rack tray.
  • HP6E headphone preamplifier with 6 channels that comes with numerous improvements over the old HP6, namely improved frequency response, additional power, digital control for input selection, and a 5th mix input. A flash memory has been added to allow recall of each input selection for each channel. It has 5 stereo channels, 6 class A headphone amplifiers, nominal output at 32Ohm and 600 mW per channel, frequency response at 100mW from 20Hz to 20kHz +/- 0.3dB.

Other new products include:

  • Q DI active DI box with 4 channels and integrated 4-channel line mixer, stereo line out, volume control and pan on each channel, each input having a balanced output. Q DI also includes a built-in headphone amplifier.
  • DI Dock stereo active DI box docking station for iPOD, a very good idea put into practice by SM Pro Audio. DI Dock designed to support portable audio devices, transforms the signal from the digital output of the playback unit (iPOD) into a balanced audio signal, thus not losing signal quality. Many portable audio devices tend to deliver a substantial amount of noise when used with a larger PA system. DI Dock is designed to solve these problems and the issues that generally arise when consumer products are introduced into professional environments. Compatible with the Apple iPOD connection, line input on a 3.5mm connector, headphone output and rotary potentiometer, transformer-isolated outputs, solid metal housing.
  • CT3 cable tester greatly improved over the previous version CT-2 with a multitude of connector types from BNC to RJ45. An interesting feature is that CT-3 can split into 2 parts to test very long cables or cables that are integrated into walls, testing a cable involving both ends of the cable.
  • AB 8 8-channel analog to ADAT converter designed to deliver 8 additional inputs to many of today's digital audio products. AB 8 features the latest generation of 24-bit converters and offers both external and internal synchronization at 44.1kHz /48kHz. BNC connectors are found on the rear panel. With the possibility of mounting in a 19” rack and built into a robust metal housing, AB8 is protected from any electrical interference. On the front panel, all inputs are equipped with combination Jack/XLR connectors.

The new products are already listed on the site with a brief presentation as well as the new prices for all SM Pro Audio products.
