This year at the international musical instruments and audio equipment exhibition MusikMesse 2011 in Frankfurt, ESI Audiotechnik announced the launch of a new series of studio reference monitors called uniK. This series is designed to complement the ESI nEar eXperience series, with the uniK monitors offering an improved mechanical design featuring rounded corners, a ribbon tweeter, and a powerful kevlar low-frequency driver.
The uniK series will include 3 models of monitors: uniK 04, uniK 05, uniK 08. The approximate price will be 950 RON for the pair of uniK 04, 760 RON for uniK 05 (price/piece), and 1250 RON for uniK 08 (price/piece). These will be available at the end of 2011.
Additionally, ESI announced the launch of a new audio interface designed for recordings from cassette decks and turntables, called PHONORAMA. This interface features adjustable RCA/phono inputs and includes software for audio restoration BIAS SoundSaver available for Mac and PC. Another new product from ESI is the successor to the MAYA44e sound card, namely the MAYA44XTe, with the difference being the addition of S/PDIF I/O and a HI-Z instrument input to the MAYA44XTe.
On the driver side, ESI announced the availability of new drivers for Maya44USB (Windows, Mac OSX 10.7 driver and panel), U24 and U2A (Mac OSX 10.7 panel), DuaFire (Windows 7 32bit, Windows 7 64bit). New drivers have been developed for the USB-MIDI interfaces M4U XL and M8U XL, allowing the use of multiple units in series and multi-client capability.
