Warburton Horn Grip - Place your right hand in the correct position for effective valve operation. Attachment to the instrument via a hook-and-loop fastening device.

Achieve a GRIP on the trumpet for improved technique and finger dexterity!

Horn Grip works by supporting the right hand in the correct position for the efficient operation of the trumpet valves.

Instructions

1. Mount the Grip body on the lead pipe using the attached Velcro straps around the lead pipe and securing the Velcro to itself. The handle functions by supporting the hand (right) as a rest while you operate your instrument's valves. This improves hand posture for functionality, as well as for aesthetic purposes.

2. The distance between the lead pipe and the right palm can then be adjusted by removing the unit and rotating the two short pillars inwards or outwards from the main body. Ensure that the curved contour at the end of each pillar aligns with the curvature of the pipe.

3. Next, insert the 2 longer support legs into the body while adjusting them to the desired distance to fit vertically with the size of the hand and the horn. While adjusting the legs into position, remember that the base of each leg is designed to rest on the central supports of the valve casing, located just below the casing's balusters. Once the desired length is reached, lock each leg size in place using the 2 knurled nuts provided on each leg, twisting them against each other (similar to a third valve slide stop rod assembly in Bach style).

Note: for players who prefer to place their right hand on the instrument while supporting the tip of the thumb between the balusters of valve casing 1 and 2, you can remove the left support leg of the Grip during use, as the body can be fully supported and maintain complete functionality with just the right leg in place.

STORAGE: When you need to put the trumpet in its case, you can quickly and easily store the Grip body without removing the Velcro straps. Simply unscrew the longer support legs while keeping the locking nuts in place and then swing the Grip body under the lead pipe, keeping it attached to the lead pipe with the straps. Since you have already “set” the depth of each leg with the 2 locking nuts, you can now easily remove/reattach the support legs without losing your chosen size settings. The detached support legs can be easily stored in a mouthpiece case or in the accessory pocket of the trumpet case/concert bag.

“Honestly, at first I was a bit sceptical about this product. It’s one of those things where the value isn’t so obvious until you have the chance to work with it for a while. Any change in the physical operation of the instrument takes some getting used to. But, after I had it on the trumpet for a while, if I pick up another instrument, I miss it.”
