Field recorder Sound Devices 833, like the popular 633, is a lightweight and compact production mixer with an integrated multitrack recorder – perfect for over-the-shoulder and other portable applications. The 833 mixer features six full-featured microphone preamplifiers, eight input channels, 12 recording tracks, six analog outputs, and an ultra-precise timecode generator.

Many functions introduced in the Scorpio mixer-recorder also appear in the 833 device, including the new preamplifier design, 2 SD card slots, and 256 GB internal SSD storage. The 833 mixer, like the “Scorpio”, offers the renowned Dugan Automixing, with up to eight channels in two separate groups mixed simultaneously.

Additionally, the 833 mixer has the same powerful processing architecture and FPGA as the “Scorpio”. This allows for complex actions such as routing, control, and signal processing. Any physical input can be routed to any track. Its integrated three-band EQ per input channel can be applied either pre or post-fader. The 833 features both digital and analog inputs and outputs and has multiple power options.
