It is equipped with an 88-key keyboard with GHS hammer action, offering the expressiveness of an acoustic piano with subtle nuances and dynamic range. The key response in the lower register is firmer than that of acoustic pianos, transitioning into a lighter and more delicate response in the higher register. The DGX-670 is equipped with the finest piano tones, powered by the Yamaha CFX sound engine.

The built-in dual speaker sound system features 12 cm round speakers that provide impressive response in the low and mid-frequency spectrum, along with a tweeter that delivers clear and well-defined response in the high-frequency spectrum.
