Hi... I wrote a review back in 2021 when I bought a Roland RD-88 from Soundcreation-TM. I was very satisfied with the keyboard, it has everything a pianist needs, weighted keys, 3000 sounds, great pianos... and it works perfectly... now, in 2025, I bought a Roland RD-88 EX from Soundcreation again... I thought to rotate the keyboards, so they don’t wear out, to sell the old one.
The RD 88 EX has a few extra piano sounds, which don’t really impress me... but I noticed some small differences between them that can be annoying... I compared them under the same conditions (same volume, same tone, both on their speakers and amplified... everything the same)... the EX sounds more “shrill”, higher... I prefer warmer tones... THE KEYBOARD... here’s the “problem”... the keyboard is softer on the EX... I could say “like a hair”, which a pianist can feel... So?!... I can say that I am a long-time customer at Soundcreation-TM and the team has always been very kind and helpful.
