Steve's Special™ is an unconventional approach to high-output bridge humbucker design. Hot humbuckers typically concentrate most of the pickup's power within a narrow frequency bandwidth for maximum impact. Using our patented dual resonance design, Steve's Special™ takes the opposite path, spreading the sound across a wide range. Low and high frequencies are amplified while the mids are pulled back, so the pickup's power does not easily push a high-gain amplifier into overdrive. This makes Steve's Special™ a good choice for both fast solo chords and clean chords, as individual notes will not muddy with strong overdrive, and clean sounds have an almost 'hi-fi' quality.
