Rohema Rakatak Green

The Rakatak - a rhythm instrument, similar in shape to the Maracas - produces a sound that reminds of horse patter or a rattlesnake. The accentuated, clear tone is produced by a movable wooden mallet, which is inserted through the hollow sound body at the upper end. By making maracas-like movements back and forth, the clapper strikes both sides of the resonating body to produce a sound. The green color used to paint the two balls on the mallet is saliva and sweat proof. Thus, the instrument made of the finest beech wood is both very interesting and absolutely harmless, even for the youngest children. The green Rakatak produces a warm, darker tone than the yellow or red model.
