Presonus EarMix 16M - mixer for personal monitoring, for wired in-ear monitoring, designed to work perfectly with the PreSonus® StudioLive® Series III mixers, but also compatible with other AVB systems, PreSonus EarMix ™ 16M offers a high-quality, extensible, networked monitoring solution for installed sound systems and recording studios. It provides total professional sound quality, build quality, and features, including a high-performance headphone amplifier, ensuring you have the monitoring you need for any situation. Each EarMix 16M supports 16 mono input channels via the AVB network - and you can connect multiple units with a StudioLive Series III mixer.

High-quality monitoring is essential for artists to deliver their best performances. The EarMix 16M features a powerful and clear headphone amplifier that can drive low-impedance devices, such as professional in-ear monitors. It also benefits from a top-quality digital-to-analog converter for the best dynamic range and signal-to-noise ratio. The amplifier design delivers excellent sound with a wide range of monitors and headphones with varying impedances. The controls and inputs can be customised on each unit to allow each musician to create a mix that works best for them. Once you have perfected a set of monitor mixes, save the entire scene in the internal memory, allowing you to store and recall up to 16 mixed scenes.


It uses audio networking that is much more than just a way to connect a digital stage box. With an AVB network, you can connect digital audio devices over long distances using CAT5e or CAT6 Ethernet cable and route the audio signal anywhere in the network with extremely low latency. AVB offers some unique advantages that make it a better choice for audio than other network protocols. For example, AVB provides a high-precision clock that significantly reduces harmonic distortion and jitter, ensuring clarity and sound quality. AVB ensures you always have sufficient bandwidth to stream audio with low latency. These important benefits are an inherent part of AVB; there is no need to do anything special for your devices or AVB switch.


It also benefits from PoE (Power over Ethernet) capabilities. The EarMix 16M can be powered by the included external power supply, but in many cases - such as when it is difficult to provide power at multiple locations on stage - it is better to use Power over Ethernet (PoE). PoE is a technology that allows network cables to carry electrical power to compatible devices. With PoE, a single cable provides both network data, such as digital audio signal, and electrical power. You can locate a PoE-compatible device anywhere you can run an Ethernet cable since you do not need a local power source. Furthermore, the PreSonus Five-Port SW5E switch allows you to connect multiple EarMix 16M devices to the AVB network and provide PoE.


An EarMix 16M is a wonderful mixer, but the system really shines when you need monitoring for the entire band. A pair of AVB ports allows you to connect multiple EarMix 16M devices while connecting to a StudioLive Series III mixer. You can further expand by linking EarMix 16M from multiple PreSonus SW5E AVB switches. Once you have created the AVB network, setting up the routing of EarMix 16M from a StudioLive Series III console in the network or using the free PreSonus UC Surface control software for Mac, Windows, iPad, and Android is quick and easy.


The EarMix 16M connectivity, AVB network with PoE, and PreSonus's renowned hardware/software integration provide you with all the tools you need to create a truly professional monitoring system that can serve even the largest ensembles. We also thought of the little things, like an optional microphone stand. Best of all, thanks to the powerful headphone amplifiers, top converters, and high-quality signal processing, the EarMix 16M delivers exceptional sound quality.
