Must take with you to that island :)

If I have to choose a few things to take with me to an island, the MKH 416 would be at the top :) You will definitely find something to record on the island - from nature to your thoughts, and if you have internet there - you can do TeleWork or RadioPlay :) Together with my voice, this Sennheiser MKH 416 is the tool with which I earn my bread and sourdough (we make our daily bread at home). I use it for voiceover and radio spot production, but also to capture some audio moments from family life. Combined with the Zoom H5 recorder, I also take it outside the studio to capture natural special effects. It’s a versatile microphone and without exaggeration, it can be called the only all-purpose microphone. Want presence in your voice? Want a bit of bass? Don’t feel like adding too much EQ or compression? Want remote recording? Want to capture all kinds of sounds at excellent quality? Too many questions? Well, we finally have an answer - Sennheiser MKH 416. The only downside would be that in my voice case - it emphasizes the 's' sounds, but that can be fixed in post-production with a 'de-esser'. I don’t count the product price as a downside - even if it costs 1000 euros, you buy it for a lifetime. I purchased it from SoundCreation (like all the audio equipment I work with) and chose the 6-installment option. Since 2017, I’ve been recording everything that crosses my mind and comes out of my mouth... and it sounds very good :)

Voiceovers weapon

After extensive research, during which I believe I read almost everything there is to read about the 3 microphones aimed at voiceover artists, I settled on Joe Cipriano's weapon. There are 3 industry-standard voiceover mics: Neumann U87ai (~12,000 RON), Neumann TLM103, and Sennheiser MKH416.

With the kindness of the SoundCreation team, I conducted a shootout in my personal studio and chose what I believe meets the initial demands: presence, clarity, energy.

The MKH416 is an essential weapon for a voiceover artist. The hyper-cardioid pattern microphone captures the voice extremely
