Yamaha S5X - Introduced in 2017, the SX series bridges the gap between the CX production line and the fully handcrafted CF line. It features many of the concert CF functions while integrating CX production techniques. Additionally, for the first time, it implements wood treatment for enhanced acoustic resonance.
The SX pianos are almost entirely handcrafted and utilise Yamaha's patented acoustic resonance enhancement process to precisely control the aging of the wood for a warm and elegant tone. The completely redesigned hammers help produce a wide palette of colours with an intimate sound and a depth rarely found in a concert piano.
