His instrument of choice for fuzz-laden chaos: an original Fender® Blender effects pedal, renowned for its dynamic response and captivating fuzz splatter. Now, over four years of co-development, Fender and Shields have revived this mythical 1970s fuzz and injected a set of subversive features, creating the new Fender Shields Blender.
Essentially, the Fender Shields Blender is the echo of Shields' vintage Fender Blender tone from the 1970s, thanks to the careful tracing of the circuit from his personal fuzz box. Built around this vintage circuit, there are entirely new ways to control and blend the original fuzz voice, all created with performance in mind using four easily accessible footswitches. Two switchable fuzz channels, each with dedicated level controls, allow you to blend the fuzz voice with your clean signal or mix the fuzz voice with a robust sub-octave fuzz, while the sag footswitch introduces sputtering and ducking effects like never before, all controlled by the dynamics of your playing intensity.
