I am already on my 3rd pair that I use at events and I can say they filter sound very well. Coming home after a Turkish wedding where they play clarinet all night and not having ringing in your ears means something. The problem with them is that after about 12 to 16 months of use, the material softens and they can no longer be used, they become like chewing gum.
I didn't expect them to be so effective. They block high and annoying sounds from the rehearsal room while still allowing you to hear what's happening around you.
I went to a 2-day festival where I used these earplugs. I can say that the music sounds better with earplugs, it's clearer, the highs don't seem to break in my head anymore, they don't scratch my ears. The initial sensation is strange because you feel the vibrations with your whole body, but the sound in your ear is perceived at a lower volume, clearer. I tried both filters, but I think it sounds better, clearer with the golden ones, even though they cut more from the sound. After the concerts were over, I had no problems with my ears ringing. The earplugs insert very easily into the ear using the cylindrical plastic provided in the package. The filters are small and if you're not careful with them, they can get lost if you change them somewhere in semi-darkness. If you have very, very small ears (you can't really wear IEM), then these earplugs won't fit in your ear either.
