Set of 2 cartridges designed for general use, offering exceptional performance and high durability, featuring a spherical stylus, transparent sound across the spectrum, and excellent handling. The new Concorde Mk2 cartridges now come in a modular form, allowing us to replace the handle without changing the entire cartridge.
I finally got my hands on them today, after a week of DPD struggling to deliver my package....
Back to the product, mounted on an Audio Technica Lp120, the sound quality difference is noticeable from the first second, the bass is stronger, the sound clearer, plus with 6mv it’s louder than the factory cartridge of the Lp120. Very easy to install, no need to calibrate the needle, just balance the tonearm, set the downforce and antiskating, and that’s it. Regarding antiskating, I noticed with the old cartridge that for this model of tt, the best is to set the antiskating 1g below the tracking force, so in this case 2. This way the cartridge doesn’t struggle to maintain the trajectory. The only bad thing, if I can say so, because I didn’t expect it, is that the dirt accumulated by the cartridge is much more than what I had with the old cartridge (even though it was elliptical). I attribute this to the higher tracking force this cartridge uses (3g vs 2g). Other than that, I simply have no complaints. I recommend purchasing the twin set for a better price (if you were to buy them separately, the price would be around 740 ron), the transport case, and a spare cartridge (in case you don’t have 2 tt’s and need 2).
