Ortofon Concorde MKII Elite - Premium system with moving magnet.
The Ortofon Concorde transports probably need no introduction for most DJs. They have been available on the market since the 1980s, and now they come in a new version. The Concorde MKII features a replaceable cartridge, a wider body for greater stability when performing live, tactile feedback when placing the disc on the turntable, or a distinctive cut at the front that allows for precise placement of the needle in the groove.
The Concorde Mk2 Elite is a limited edition model, suitable for scratching and back cueing. It offers enhanced power, transparent sound, an elliptical diamond tip, and a robust support made of aluminium and magnesium. A new rubber suspension has been developed to ensure excellent tracking performance. The sense of luxury design is then accentuated by the gold-plated finish.
I purchased this cartridge with the idea of combining price with quality as well as the audiophile performance I was looking for. I spent some time researching user impressions related to this cartridge. It is clearly made to satisfy the most demanding ears. It has a clear, full, and detailed sound, and the high sensitivity of 8.5mV makes the presence of both high and low sounds abundant. The channel separation is very pronounced 1 KHZ=25dB and 15KHZ=15dB, not being the type of cartridge where you can hardly distinguish them as found in standard cartridges. The tracking ability is greater than other types of cartridges "Tracking Ability at 315 HZ." The stylus is of the Nude Elliptical type. The total weight is 18.5 gr. In terms of execution and design, it looks professional / impeccable. It is an exceptional high-class cartridge from a limited series, and anyone who intends or is looking for reasons to buy it, I advise them that they will have no reasons for dissatisfaction. The manufacturer recommends a tracking force between 2-4gr. I use it on a Reloop RD 7000 turntable at a weight of 1.8 gr. I also added an additional lead weight inside the opposite end of the arm to compensate and balance the arm (the cartridge is heavy for my arm) and everything is fine. The only downside is its price as well as the price for purchasing replacement needles. Still, an exceptional product cannot be cheap. I give it the highest rating and recommend it as a high-class product.
