I bought the set for a pair of ATH m50x, because I read they are better and more comfortable than the originals. They were easy to install, although the fit is a bit looser than the originals, but it doesn't bother me.
They are 100% compatible with Audio-Technica AVC-500. The quality of these pads is far superior to the original ones. With the original pads, I couldn't keep the headphones on for more than 30 minutes before needing a break. So, I highly recommend them!
The ear pads are excellent. They fit on other headphones besides the originals. I mounted them on Pioneer SE-M380 (they fit perfectly). The mentioned headphones initially had ear pads covered with fabric and the result of replacing them with SHURE was spectacular. Now the Pioneer headphones sound louder, clearer, and have much stronger bass. Some say they put these Shure pads on Audio-Technica ATH-M50X and the result was that those headphones sound better with Shure pads than with the originals. The Shure HPA-EC-840 pads also fit on Pioneer SE-M280.

I bought them to replace the ear pads on my Audio-Technica ATH-M40X that had peeled off. They are way better than the original Audio-Technica ones and from the looks of it, they will definitely last longer.
