First of all, we shouldn't confuse Requinto guitars with 1/2 size guitars (for kids), even though they have the same string length (535mm). From the perspective of experiencing 'world music' sounds, the Ortega model RQ39 is very interesting.
Negative aspects: (1) the frets are unpolished, so any bending action on the strings will cause a slight squeak; (2) the strings that come with the guitar are not of the quality expected from the Pro series (the E, B, and G strings produce longitudinal finger friction noise).
Positive aspects: (1) the materials used (especially the solid cedar top) ensure good acoustic sensitivity; (2) the lack of thick lacquer on the guitar adds to the acoustic sensitivity, but also gives a somewhat rustic tone; (3) very good response speed; (4) the feeling of direct touch with the wood in a quasi-natural state (without glossy finish) is very interesting.
