A tambourine can have a head (headed, with a drum-like surface that can be struck for rhythm) or it can simply be an open frame with jingles, designed exclusively for shaking or striking with the palm. Frames with a single row of jingles are more discreet, suitable for light rhythmic accents; those with two rows are louder, providing a full sound that can be heard over a full band. For children or music education classes, the Nino Percussion series offers models made from ABS, colorful and durable for less delicate handling — a safe choice for the classroom or home. For musicians, Gewa and Dimavery cover the mid-range, with wooden frames, while Latin Percussion and Meinl offer professional-level models with tuned jingles and high-quality natural or synthetic heads for touring or studio use. There are also tunable versions (with adjustable heads via screws), allowing for tone adjustment, similar to a small drum. The shop has over 220 tambourine models, from the simplest ones for first steps in music to professional instruments used on stage.
