Audio-Technica AT2035, AT2050

The AT2050 is the most affordable multi-pattern studio microphone: it is versatile, equipped with an 80Hz high-pass filter option, switchable 10dB padding, and has selectable patterns (omni, cardioid, and figure-eight). Both microphones also work with lower voltage phantom power (not all audio interfaces and mixers provide phantom power at 48V).
Focusrite Saffire Pro 40
With this model, Focusrite has recreated the foundations of the Saffire series, and according to the manufacturer, it is the best choice in its category. We have not tested it yet, but we will be able to do so in a few weeks. It is said that due to the new FireWire DICE2 chip, installation takes only a few short seconds, it is hot-plug, and very stable, while the sound quality is comparable to equipment that is an order of magnitude more expensive.
