FRX mounts directly in place of the Tune-O-Matic system and stopbar, using the existing mounting holes, without requiring additional modifications.
The locking nut mounts behind the existing nut of the guitar, in place of the truss rod cover.
The FRX locking nut has mounting holes on the left and right; only two wood screws need to be installed to mount the nut.
If your guitar has a headstock angle less than the standard 17°, which prevents proper string placement, you will need the FRX Custom locking nut with spacer. Installation instructions PDF.
On some Les Paul models, especially LP Customs, the neck angle is not sufficient to allow the FRX to function without minor body modifications. Check the bridge dimensions before purchase or installation. Some TOM bridges have minor dimensional differences.
