Floyd Rose presents the new FRX tremolo system for Les Paul, SG, and Flying V guitars. The FRX mounts directly in place of the Tune-O-Matic system and stopbar, using the existing mounting holes, without requiring additional modifications. The locking nut is installed behind the existing nut of the guitar, in place of the truss rod cover. The FRX locking nut has mounting holes on the left and right; only two wood screws need to be installed to mount the nut. If your guitar has a headstock angle less than the standard 17°, which prevents proper string placement, you will need the FRX Custom locking nut with spacer. Installation instructions PDF. *NOTE: On some Les Paul models, especially LP Customs, the neck angle is not sufficient to allow the FRX to function without minor modifications to the body. The receiving part of the tension transfer rod on the base plate slightly extends under the bridge and may touch the body if a small channel is not made. Please check the bridge measurements before purchasing or installation. Some TOM bridges have minor dimensional differences. *Note: If you intend to have the bridge in fully floating mode, we recommend keeping the nylon support post in place. This piece helps compensate for the difference in pivot point on the FRX and the multitude of guitar settings. The FRX tremolo system is protected under US Patent No. 9,818,382.
