From my experience, it's worth purchasing a refurbished Yamaha piano. The refurbishment took place in Japan, so the instrument looked visually like new, and inside it had no defects, although normal wear from its past was visible.
The technician's adjustment who delivered the piano to my home was equally important, as after tuning and adjusting the key sensitivity, it started to sound and respond to touch even better than in the store.
I recommend these refurbished pianos, although you must definitely try them before procuring. You get a product that retains its sound and tactile qualities to a large extent, even though the instrument I purchased was produced in the '70s.
Purchased in May 2023, after a scheduled visit to the showroom in Timisoara. Although manufactured in 1976, its condition proved to be impeccable both externally (cosmetically) and technically. It seems that those who refurbish these instruments do a great job. It was delivered a week later in Bucharest in impeccable transport conditions and set up on the first floor where I live. I especially appreciate the robotic electric equipment (actually a senile) that climbs the stairs by itself with the piano on its back. After tuning, the instrument acquired a wonderful "voice". I particularly appreciate the product but also the professionalism and kindness of the people at Sound Creation, with special mention for Mr. Lucian B. P.S. After registering the product on Yamaha Europe, the warranty was extended to....10 years! I confidently recommend both the product and the company!
I purchased the piano over the phone without prior testing and even without seeing pictures (I preferred the product not to be unpacked before delivery). The sales and delivery process was impeccable, and the instrument is in excellent condition with not a single scratch after being transported from Timisoara to Iasi. I think only a professional could tell the difference between this piano and one that just came out of the factory. I hope the reliability of the product matches the initial impression.
