Void Acoustics Nexus XL - This acoustic bass enclosure is based on the theory of 5 resonant zones, as seen in the popular Stasys X series (an enclosure with an 18” driver that serves as the backbone of many Void Acoustics installations worldwide). Subsequent refinement of the design principle has led to previously unimaginable levels of performance. Transient response and articulation were the two main design criteria. The use of a large driver provided exceptionally high levels of efficiency and an extended response in the low-frequency range. A dual-layer voice coil arrangement was also implemented to increase both power handling and efficiency, while simultaneously reducing the total moving mass to that of a much smaller driver. Both measures allow the necessary response for modern music styles while still maintaining the efficiency and extended low-frequency range that only a very large driver can provide. For lower power handling, the Nexus XL serves as an alternative to the Nexus X and can be used together with the Nexus Q.
