NT1 Signature is a side address microphone and has a tight cardioid polar pattern. This means it will capture sound perpendicular to and in front of the microphone body while rejecting sounds from behind it. The golden point on the body of the NT1 Signature series indicates the front of the microphone - always ensure it is pointed towards your sound source.
