Focal Shape 50 - active studio monitor with 2-way nearfield design. The closed cabinet made of MDF is equipped with a 5.0" flax cone woofer and an inverted dome tweeter made of aluminium/magnesium alloy, which together provide a frequency response from 50 Hz to 35 kHz, with a maximum SPL of 106 dB, while two 5.0" passive radiators extend the low frequencies and minimise distortion. The mid/low frequency driver is powered by a 60W Class-AB amplifier, while the high-frequency driver uses a 25W Class-AB amplifier. The closed cabinet design, without a bass port, allows the monitor to be placed near a wall without adverse effects.
