I gave it the max stars just because it's a good microphone for rehearsals and also max stars for the kindness with which I was treated! Compared to an SM58 made in 1996, I wouldn't see much difference if you tweak the settings! The Beta58 has good presence, sensitivity, but the downside is that it feeds back! The SM58 has very good, warm, clear lows but less presence if we keep the same settings! This can be solved with a bit of mid-high from the mixer! The visible difference is if you switch from an SM58 to a KSM dynamic or condenser plugged into phantom power. I think there is also a pronounced visible difference between a Beta87 A and Beta58. Clearly! The price and package of the Beta58 (stand and cable) makes me not regret buying it; in my case, I would have been satisfied with the SM58! The cable in the offer is of poor quality and has a hiss. It doesn't bother all ears, but it exists even though you can't hear it when singing! Live, the microphone does its job, but for a recording, you'll need to choose something else!
A very good microphone, captures the voice very well and what is most important, it is one of the microphones that reproduces your voice exactly as you have it, a very good correction... it almost forces you to sing correctly, you can rehearse even in a smaller room at a high volume, as it doesn't cause feedback. If you don't have a big budget for a wireless microphone and want the same quality... Shure Beta 58A is what you need. Superior quality at a good price!!!
I bought this microphone and I am very satisfied with it. It sounds very clear and you can control your voice very well, as you can hear every detail. I recommend it to all vocal soloists!
I have a Shure Beta 58A wired microphone and it sounds amazing. You have to hold it to sing into it and then give your opinion based on what you’ve sung. It has something that other microphones don’t have. The quality-price ratio is fantastic. GUYS, GET SOMETHING LIKE THIS, YOU WON'T REGRET IT. I've had it for 3 years and I wouldn't change it for anything else.
this microphone is superb...you don't understand what quality means until you sing on a Shure...and I think this is the best one from them...all the positive comments on the profile sites only reinforce the feeling you have when you sing with it...I also have an Audio Technica 2010 with a great condenser and that one is good too, but Shure rules
