Powered by the original KHDK circuit, No. 2 is KHDK's Clean Boost pedal, with a dynamic response capability similar to a tube amplifier, without compression.
No.2 uses KHDK's original true bypass circuit employing our special blend of solid-state and mosfet technology.
Like all KHDK pedals, No.2 is proudly made and quality tested in Kentucky, USA.
Controls
GAIN controls the overall gain of the circuit.
VOLUME controls the overall output volume of No. 2.
The HI/LO switch is directly linked to gain. The lo setting provides a warm, tube-like boost. The hi setting adds saturation, compression, and a strong mid boost.
BASS controls the bass and lower mid-frequency gain. The bass is linked to gain, making it a secondary gain control that enhances the overall tone. For tube amplifier overdrive, it is recommended to reduce the bass control setting for a tighter bass response. For a single notes, turn the Bass control clockwise.
The TREBLE control is a passive low-pass filter that reduces peak levels and provides a wide range of frequencies. The setting depends on your amplifier; we recommend cutting the highs on brighter amplifiers to achieve a warm tone.
FOOTSWITCH engages No. 2 in “on” mode or True bypass.
Power
KHDK No. 2 Clean Boost is powered by a single 9V battery. You can access the battery connection by unscrewing the bottom plate of the pedal housing. Alternatively, connect an external 9V DC power cable (centre negative) supply.
