Neumann USM69 I mt - condenser studio microphone stereo for MS and XY stereophony, with free adjustment of capsule angles and selectable polar directional characteristics. It consists of the amplifier part and the capsule part. The amplifier part contains two very low noise microphone amplifiers, which operate independently of each other. The two double diaphragm capsules are mounted vertically, with the upper capsule able to rotate relative to the other over a radius of up to 270°. On the outer side of the housing along the line that separates the two capsules, there are coloured markers for identifying the position of the capsules relative to each other.
The polar directional characteristics can be selected individually for each capsule via the two rotary selectors. Power is supplied by connecting to any 48V Phantom power source, and an internal DC converter generates the necessary polarisation voltages for the capsules. It can also be used as a mono microphone, by using the two channels of the microphone in cascade or by using a single capsule of the microphone.
