Tech 21 Geddy Lee YYZ Shape-Shifter Signature SansAmp
Responding to the overwhelming sales of the Geddy Lee MP40 Limited Edition Signature SansAmp, Tech 21 offers the YYZ Shape-shifter Signature SansAmp. While the features and functionality remain the same, the cosmetics have been changed out of respect for the limited number of MP40s. The colour scheme and graphics are now in line with Geddy's other Signature SansAmps: the rack-mounted GED-2112, the desktop DI-2112, and the unique single footswitch pedal YYZ.
The completely analog YYZ Shape-shifter SansAmp is based on the original YYZ pedal, with the addition of a selectable Boost Stomp switch that provides a 12 dB presence boost for enhanced peak distortion. Pressing the shape switch adds 6dB of Schmegilka on top, which, according to Geddy, “is an indefinably amazing thing!”
Other features include: a Mix control to blend the ratio of clean and dirty bass tube amplifier tones; the Tight button adds definition to notes in cleaner settings and makes distorted tones clearer; Drive control; 3-band active EQ; and Master Volume. It operates on a 9V alkaline battery (not included) or optional DC power supply.
As with all SansAmps, you can record directly and enhance previously recorded tracks. For live performances, you can drive a power amplifier and speakers, boost an existing amplifier setup, or run directly into a PA system mixer. And each Geddy Lee Signature SansAmp delivers Geddy's core sound, as well as versatility for many different styles and tones.
