The MDE™ (Minimum Diffraction Enclosure™) type housing provides the monitor with a wide and linear frequency response both on and off axis, with high stereo image quality.
The 8040 BPM audio monitor is magnetically shielded, has overload protection, and versatile controls for room response. Each 8040 comes with an Iso-Pod™ (Isolation Positioner/Decoupler™) base that eliminates sound coloration by decoupling the monitor from the surface it is placed on. The Iso-Pod™ also allows the speaker to be positioned at different angles, ensuring that its acoustic axis is directed straight towards the listener.
For proper mounting in various environments, the Genelec 8040 includes suspension points at the back of the unit for wall or floor stands, with an additional M10 hole at the base of the unit.
