They are light, medium, flexible strings, very good for playing bass solos. The cool part is that while other brands have sizes 040 060 080 100, Fender's strings have the G and D strings a bit thicker. This makes the sound more uniform and you don't feel discrepancies between the first and last string (meaning when G sounds bright and clear, while E sounds deep and muffled, which forces you to definitely use a compressor on the bass sound). I recommend them even if you have weaker fingers or if you've just switched from regular guitar to bass.
