The subwoofer is well made, sounds decent, but has a bit of a muddy bass, like most PA subs. The amplifier is very well executed, the fan doesn't start at all at first, probably only kicks in when it heats up. Real measured power is a maximum of 200 watts RMS, consuming a maximum of 220 watts from the mains. It has a digital amplifier with 90% efficiency that doesn't heat up. It's one of the best price-quality subwoofers on the market. For very low, deep frequencies, I recommend 12-18 inch subwoofers with rubber cones that go lower in frequency (SVS, JBL, etc.). It's not compatible with Hi-Fi speakers; I tried pairing it with 2 JBL Partybox 320s and they didn't work well together at all.
