Genelec 8331 AP - active studio monitor with 3-way design, featuring a cast aluminium enclosure that delivers an extraordinary audio image and an extended frequency response, regardless of the listening distance, whether medium or large. It benefits from an auto-calibration function and MDC technology (Minimum Diffraction Coaxial Driver Technology). The MDC design incorporates a MF diaphragm-suspension-tweeter with an optimised Directivity Control Waveguide that provides perfectly controlled directivity with minimal diffraction. The "hidden" speakers reproduce sound through acoustic slots located at the ends of the acoustic enclosure, thus providing sound like a single low-frequency speaker while extending directivity control in low frequencies.

It includes an Iso-Pod stand, which offers excellent stability, perfect isolation from the surface on which it is placed, and allows for a tilt of +/-15 degrees of the monitor to provide an optimal position relative to the listener. It features a protection circuit that automatically reduces high signal levels when they occur suddenly, thus protecting the monitor without affecting sound quality. Additionally, it has an ISS (Intelligent Signal Sensing) circuit that detects whether there is a signal being transmitted to the monitor; when there is no audio signal, the circuit switches to low-power sleep mode, consuming less than 0.5 W, thereby reducing energy consumption and wear on the monitor. When a signal is detected, the circuit automatically switches the monitor back to standard operating mode. The ISS circuit can be disabled via the 'ISS Disable' switch located on the back of the monitor. It can be used in both horizontal and vertical positions and can be mounted on stands or brackets due to the 3/8'' threaded hole located on the base of the monitor.
