Handcrafted by the artisans at ESP Custom Shop in Japan, the ESP Alexi Ripped is the identical model designed and played by one of the most beloved and influential figures in metal music: Alexi Laiho from Children of Bodom. The ESP Alexi Hexed is offered in a offset V shape, with a neck-through-body construction at a scale of 25.5 inches. It features a thin U-shaped three-piece maple neck with a natural satin finish for smooth and fast playability, alder body wings, and an ebony fingerboard (scalloped from frets 19-24) with 24 extra-jumbo frets, sawtooth inlays, and glow-in-the-dark side markers. The Alexi Ripped model is the first Alexi Laiho Signature Series guitar with more than one pickup. It includes a passive EMG HZ F-H2 humbucker in the bridge position, a high-gain ceramic pickup that offers excellent presence and clarity, with a strong response, as well as a passive stacked single-coil EMG HZ S2 in the neck for just the right blend of mids with a low clear and full level. It also includes an active boost switch ESP MM-04, a preamp circuit with adjustable EQ settings, and up to +18dB of gain when you need it! Like Alexi's personal instrument, the E-II Alexi Ripped includes next-generation components such as Gotoh locking tuners, ESP strap locks, an Original Floyd Rose double-locking bridge, and chrome hardware, including a volume control, a built-in three-way pickup selector, and boost switch. Available in a Purple Fade Satin finish, with “ripped” black satin stripes, with a black satin back and sides. Includes a luxury ESP hard case.
