The Meinl Sonic Energy Octave Steel Tongue Drum is made from high-quality stainless steel. It features a central bass note in the middle plus eight additional notes surrounding it. These eight notes consist of two of each that provide the tone in two octaves. This creates a wonderful, meditative sound, similar to that of a handpan.
At the bottom of the drum, you will find a sound hole, which can be closed with a silicone plug to make the sound even more compact. There are also three silicone feet at the bottom to prevent the drum from slipping. You can play the Octave Steel Tongue Drum with mallets or with your fingers. Just place it on a flat surface or in your lap to start playing.
The drum includes two wooden mallets with rubber heads and a lovely zippered transport bag with a handle.
