Neumann M147 Tube - cardioid condenser microphone with a dual diaphragm K 47 capsule, inherited from the legendary U 47 and M 49 microphones. The tube functions as an impedance converter. The microphone features an elegant satin nickel finish and comes in a protective and transport aluminium case, along with a microphone cable, a stand mount clip, and a power supply.
It is recommended both as a vocal microphone and for string instruments, wind instruments, piano, etc., in the studio, for analog or digital recordings. It has a flat frequency response in the upper midrange, with a boost of up to 3dB above 2 kHz. The microphone has a cardioid pattern, leaning more towards super-cardioid due to the capsule design.
Compared to other microphones, the impedance converter makes this microphone very low noise, at 12 dB-A / 24 dB CCIR weighted. Both the capsule and the entire electronic circuit in the microphone are mounted on an anti-shock system, providing a clean sound free from unwanted noise. Due to its wide operating frequency, the microphone can capture and reproduce very low frequency signals without distortion.
To avoid unwanted external noise, it is recommended to use it together with the EA1 elastic suspension system and the WS87 windscreen. For vocal capture, the use of pop screens PS 15 or PS 20a is recommended.
The power supply for this microphone is provided through the N 149 V power supply (100 V - 240 V, 50 - 60 Hz).
