The Relentless™ bass pickups begin with our freshly sculpted metal covers, adding both form and function. Although Billy Sheehan has always loved the sound of DiMarzio bass pickups, his playing style inspired him to modify the exterior. Billy used to build them with epoxy to round off the sharp edges. Designed with Billy, we removed all right angles from a standard P Bass pair, curved the tips to match the radius of the fingerboard/string, and changed the mounting to a robust 1/8” circuit board that eliminates protruding mounting screws.
