This two-pair digital cable with a characteristic impedance of 110 ohm not only provides for the standard unidirectional DMX link between the control unit and dimmers but also the transmission of optional error and status signals in the opposite direction. As it is a very complex and costly matter to retrofit cables in existing installations, these two-pair DMX cables should only be used in installations to ensure compatibility with future DMX specifications.
