They effectively destroy standing waves and flutter echo, and when used together with Auralex's LENRD or Venus Bass Traps or Sunburst Wideband Absorbers, they can effectively tame the entire frequency range in almost any acoustic environment.
2" Studiofoam Pyramids offer slightly more sound diffusion and a bit less sound absorption than 2" Studiofoam Wedges, resulting in a space that feels less "closed/harsh/dry" with a bit more "air/life".
