Originating from Syria, this ancient instrument provides a harmonic and rhythmic foundation for the ensemble. In the new MEINL Artisan Edition Mizhars, we have used the highest quality skins available – selected for uniform thickness to deliver a warm tone and consistent response. A specially designed bearing edge, invented by Norbert Eckermann, ensures deep drops and clear articulations (teks).
