Strange noises

I bought this mixer about a month ago. I got it to use for certain audio/video transmissions. I was excited that it had a USB output, it seemed to work, but when I connected it to the laptop for transmission, some "background" noises appeared, if I can call them that, and made the transmission of poor quality. I had to use different reducers to get the signal to the laptop. I don't know if it's defective or if I need to use another cable, not the one that came in the package. Another disadvantage is the AUX/FX outputs/inputs. They are quite confusing. Other than that, I have no complaints, the quality is evident.
