Is it suitable for powering a BOSS VE-22 vocal processor? I mention that this processor also works with 4 AA batteries of 1.5V, so 6V total, while the adapter outputs 9V.

I bought it for an effects processor, BOSS ME-70. Before, I was using an equivalent AC Adapter with the same polarity, but I had a particularly annoying background noise. To my happiness, with this adapter, I have no problems. (I use a Telecaster Thinline with MP-90 pickups).
